Project Manager - Mechanical

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager that can plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of specific projects. The Project Manger should support the company's sales effort with field project management. He/She should be able to manage mechanical equipment and by-product handling systems in the field. This position will also involve direct contact and detailed communication with outside vendors, customers and AES staff by serving as a liaison to those entities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Visits job sites to perform take offs and scope review with customer
  • Supports field work on main, service, and warranty projects
  • Creates design sketches as required
  • Specifies jobsite materials
  • Manages material and equipment deliveries
  • Interact with customer on projects; maintain internal communications with AES staff and management regarding customer communications
  • Prepares material take off and price estimates for sales quotations
  • Administrative duties include contacting vendors, generating sales proposals and estimates
  • Provides and convey project information and documentation in a timely fashion
  • Composes routine correspondence using word and spreadsheet processing software
  • Presents a professional image to our customers and vendors
  • Manages customer warranty projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum 5 years’ project management experience in similar industry
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical contracting
  • High school diploma with apprenticeship and two-year trade school degree preferred
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment
  • Experience working in Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work independently and to think through/resolve problems and challenges in order to meet company objectives
  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to handle challenging individuals and situations tactfully
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills, for both internal and external communication
